And the days go by

Well it's that time again! Sorry it's taken a bit! We'll give you an update on the last week or so of our lives. On Feb 26th we arrived in a little city called Pushkar in Rajasthan with a population of a mere 30,000 it was a lovely escape from the city life. We arrived a few days before the Hindu Festival of Holi and stayed in a very cute and hippie hostel which was full of bright colours hammocks and folks from across the globe. Chel and I shared a tent on the roof top of the hostel which was lovely and after both getting over travellers (we were a tad sick) we were geared up for Holi!!!! As I said in the last post Holi is this festival where they chuck paint at eachother and chuck they did!!! Chelsea and I were covered in 20 minutes from head to toe! and upon returning to our hostel we found out that they were well... out of water! so.... we shared one bucket between the two of us! Water is a precious gift! From Pushkar we headed to Jaipur where we did a quick blitz of the town in 3 hrs (we are seasoned travellers now!) and from Jaipur to Agra. In Agra we saw the Taj Mahal in all her splendor! Really quite a masterpiece! As well as the fort where the King lived Chelsea and I are celebrities don't you know and spent the afternoon shaking peoples hands having our pictures taken and being asked "from which country do you come?" from Canada of course and proud ot it! We saw factories where they made persian carpets and marble, it was a bit of a scam but interesting none the less! From Agra we took to a train to Veranasi and from Veranasi I write this lovely little post! In the past few days Chel and I have gone on a boat ride in the Ganges and watched a Hindu ceremony at night. We've also witnessed the ghats where they burn the bodies which was quite an eye opener. We have done quite a bit of shopping and today we visited a monkey temple those monkey's are cute but rather dirty! On March 8th we will be flying south to the state of Kerala so travelling mercies for that, and then we will be spending two weeks travelling up the coast and enjoying the lovely beaches and hopefully a break from the heat! Our flights are booked for Amsterdam and we're leaving on the 31st of March which is coming up insanely quickly!

Hope that gives you all a bit of reading material! Enjoy the your cool weather at home as Chelsea and I pant under the incredable sun! Just to give you an idea by 10:30 in the morning its 28 or 29 and by lunch is around 38 and its only getting hotter!

We love you and miss you all!!!
much love Simone and Chelsea!
